It's 2026 and it's time to celebrate!
This year marks two big milestones in the story of M & M's Rug Shop.
This year we celebrate 25 years since we opened our showroom in Bentleigh East, and 40 years since we began our journey in the wonderful world of rugs.
25 years ago, back in 2001, we moved from our previous location in Glen Huntly, to our current showroom in Bentleigh East. It was a big move for us, and we've never looked back. The larger showrooms allow us to better showcase the huge range of rugs and runners we carry in store.
40 years ago, way, way back in 1986, Lyn & Alan Moore first got the itch to give the rug business a try. I began working with my parents after school and on weekends, and am now the owner and director, supported by a great team.
From our first days in the trade, we have concentrated heavily on customer service and how we can help with your rug needs, while we operate with a belief that a quality rug does not need to cost a fortune, and a less expensive rug does not have to be a cheap rug.
During our time in business, we have seen rugs gain a much more prominent place in interior design and everyday home decor. A huge change in available flooring options over the past 40 years sees rugs in most homes and very much a part of everyday living.
In 40 years, rugs have gone from an itch to a way of life.
We love rugs and look forward to celebrating our 25th and 40th in 2026.
