Pazyryk - The oldest rug in the world.
In 1949 a Soviet archaeoligist uncovered an ice burial chamber of an ancient regional governor of the Pazyryk region, near the outer border of Mongolia. Preserved in the Siberian ice in the Altai mountains for over 2500 years was the original Pazyryk rug, the earliest known rug in the world.
